Things to do:
* Pack for Leicester. (aka, unpack from Malaysia.)
* Buy stuff for Leicester. Believe it or not, I have to bring cutlery and plates and stuff because the University of Leicester had some kind of stupidity attack and aren't providing any, so I want to get some plastic stuff.
* Do Mechanics Ex 2D. I'm pretty sure we started trying ot do this damn exercise at the start of July. I will probably still be doing in by September because it is just that evil. Even Millie and Prue can't do this shit.
* Not write Band of Brothers fic. Because I have a first line and I know basically what the story is about but I'm not going to write it because the research I'd need to do would be monstrous, including both Nietzsche and nihilism as well as, you know, WWII.

Re travelling: I never want to take a long haul flight that leaves at 2am ever again, especially not when you have to be awake to change planes at Dubai. I was awake at 5am in the morning in not one but two different timezones, and no one freaking needs to have 5am more than once in one day.
Also, can I just say how much I hate bumpy take-offs? Rough landings I am fine with. Cos you're essentially falling from the sky, so at least it's logical, but when 400 tonnes of plane is trying to leave the ground, said plane bouncing around is not reassuring. Dubai and Birmingham and Heathrow all have nice smooth runways and nice take-offs -- it's KL International, award winning airport, that's always bumpy. Yes, it's a lovely shiny building, KLIA, and the service is wonderful. But fix your damn runways.

- 16:23 Am back. Not feeling too messed up by timezones. My plan for this afternoon is to watch a lot of Band of Brothers and *maybe* go jogging.
- 16:25 *checks football results* Wtf, Fulham beat Arsenal? And Wolves, <333, keep being awesome.
- 17:59 BoB: I SEE SIMON PEGG. He's in ep1 as Ross' secretary/assistant. Allegedly he's in ep2 too. *watches*
- 07:10 Band of Brothers: Speirs is my favourite. And Nixon and Winters are so slashy it is actually too easy. (Think AKT levels of slashy.)
- 07:12 Off to the airport in 6hours. Is raining here. Feh. Should probably pack now, y/y?
- 08:50 Why is 'Nietzsche' so damn hard to spell? And why do I always try to spell him with an x? That's doesn't even make sense, brain.
- 09:21 4hours to airport time. Shutting down laptop now cos I need to *actually pack*.
- 09:32 Have bought sweets for everyone for when I get back. (Nice sweets this time. Chocolate is involved, and normal flavours.)
- 10:13 I really am not a dog person.
- 10:22 Also, I got the tiniest USB stick today. Is 8GB, so I could basically fit a tv series on there, and it cost like £12.
- 13:07 The local priest here is annoyingly like Mr Barton, i.e. evol and grumpy and loud.
- 13:20 Am looking forward to getting back home. Weirdly, right now I really miss stilton cheese. *shrug*
LJ, I hate you. The one time I'm actually trying to post, you eat my freaking entry.
Anyway. Loudtwitter did not let me down. Victory!
Also, I am so going here when I'm in Edinburgh. I've been wanting to try indoor rock climbing for ages and dude, largest climbing centre in the world.
--
Flying back to W'ton in three days-ish. We leave at 2am Sunday (Malaysia time) and arrive 1pm Sunday (UK time). Some time-zone time-travel magic somehow ensures that despite 20+ hours travelling, we arrive on the same day we left.
(And then I have just three days to get ready for Leicester omg.)

- 11:26 Guy who cut my hair: moron. He managed to do the exact opposite of what I wanted. (It's now shooort again. :( )
- 11:27 OTOH, guy who did my highlights: genius! Is all fiery and red and bits of orange and omg. <3
Ok, hopefully the next post in this thing should be from Loudtwitter re: my hair. It's already failed to work once, but this time the thing assures me that in 12 hours it will ship my twitter update to this LJ. It seems to be sincere so I'm going to trust it. (Don't let me down, Loudtwitter.)
I'm kinda pleased with how this LJ looks, though, despite the whole non-functionality problem.
